WELCOME! St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ridge Valley is a member of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. We are believers in Christ, the Son, sent by God, our Father, to save us from our sins and to ensure us life everlasting with God in heaven. We believe that God has sent us the Holy Spirit to help us to know and to do God’s will on earth, and in response to all these gifts we worship God with love, praise, and joy. St. John’s members hope to live their lives as constant worship, but we regularly gather together for worship as a family on Sundays. Everyone is welcome to join us. We are child friendly and believe that visitors are one of the greatest joys of worship. We offer Sunday School most Sundays for adults and children where the love of Jesus is taught and experienced.

We believe that God created us to be in relationship with God and one another. Therefore we offer an abundance of opportunities to deepen our faith and serve our community, and fellowship.

St. John’s Lutheran Church at Ridge Valley invites you to be an active part of the Body of Christ, which is the Church. Through the Holy Spirit, we grow in our love and service to each other and to all of God’s world.

What do we do in worship?

We offer praise to God in word and song, we hear God’s Word in Scripture reading and in preaching,
we pray for God's forgiveness and healing, as well as offer thanks to God for everything that has been given to us,
which is everything we have!

We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday at all of our services.
In this sacrament we experience the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ as we receive His body in the distribution of the bread, and His blood in the distribution of the wine.

What do we believe?

We, the members of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ridge Valley, believe that...

+ God has created and sustains us, and all that exists;
+ Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who has redeemed us by His death and resurrection, and lives and reigns as Lord of the Church;
+ The Holy Spirit creates and sustains the Church through the Gospel; in the same way the Holy Spirit calls, gathers, enlightens and sanctifies all believers with their Lord and with each other in the fellowship of faith.

The Lutheran church is a confessional church where the Apostle's Creed or Nicene's creed is professed weekly. What if I’ve never been to church before?

If you've never been to a worship service before, don't worry, we will walk you through it. We are friendly and honored that you joined us. You will receive a bulletin which provides everything you need. Come to experience the love of God. Just be present, relax, and absorb the music, scripture and prayer.

If you are interested in learning more about our history or the why’s of what we do, check out our classes that are offered throughout the year. New Member Class are taught by the Pastor.
