The ST. JOHN'S FUNERAL TEAM coordinates a luncheon that follows a funeral service, according to the family's wishes. After meeting with the family, the pastor will contact the funeral team coordinator to relay the family's wishes regarding the funeral luncheon including the number expected. The funeral team coordinator then works to meet the meal requests of the family. This may include ordering deli trays from Landis Markets on behalf of the family or coordinating with the family's caterer. The coordinator will also contact the volunteer bakers to organize desserts for the meal. The coordinator will call upon his or her team for help with the following:
Setting up tables and chairs Setting the tables with silverware Making coffee, hot water and other beverages Serving the food Cleaning up Members are invited to share in this ministry to the grieving by volunteering to serve on a funeral team or to volunteer to be a dessert baker.
