Worship & Music Committee The purpose of the Worship & Music Committee is to plan and coordinate vibrant worship of God in our Lutheran theological tradition, and to assist and encourage the pastor and organist/music director in the ministry of God's church, by helping them to select a variety of appropriate formats for a variety of worship services throughout the year. The Worship & Music Committee reviews responses to recent worship services and seasons, making suggestions and recommendations for future services and worship practices. The committee considers attendance, timeframes, worship assistants, and music selection, striving to provide a meaningful worship service while meeting the needs of our diverse congregation. The Worship & Music committee also plans special services, schedules one-service Sundays, and keeps the website and other communications up to date, especially regarding the worship schedule. We, at St. John's, continue to demonstrate our devotion to worship and glorifying our Lord. We continue to offer more opportunities for people to worship. The Worship & Music Committee works hard to meet the needs of everyone, and heartily invites members of St. John's to share ideas and join the Worship & Music Committee. Gifts needed to serve on this committee include, love of God and neighbor, passion for excellent and beautiful worship, creativity, and a willingness to do various tasks to fulfill the committee goals. The time involved is to attend meetings as needed (generally quarterly), and time spent on various tasks that support the work of the committee. If you are interested in joining the Worship & Music Committee or for more information, please contact Lynne Kelly, committee chair by contacting the church office. | ||||
