Christian Education Committee

The Christian Education Committee provides a balanced program of Christian education for the congregation, in consultation with the pastor. This committee organizes the Sunday School program for children ages 3-18, provides programming for Vacation Bible School, and sponsors special learning events "or various age groups in the congregation. In addition the Christian Education Committee works with the pastor to develop an excellent confirmation program and suggests adult study topics/ presentation style to the pastor. This committee also keeps the education ministry information on the website up to date.

Many dedicated teachers serve on this committee and share the love of Jesus through their care and example. The Christian Education Committee shares with the congregation "Rally Day" in September, an annual "Youth Christmas Program" in December, and a special end-of-the-year program on "Youth Sunday" in May.

New committee members are always welcome to join! Gifts needed to serve on the Christian Education Committee include, love of God, a passion for sharing knowledge of God and God's will, creativity & lots of ideas, and a willingness to do various tasks to fulfill the committee goals. The time involved in serving on the Christian Education Committee includes attending meetings as needed, generally about every other month, and time spent on occasional work outside of meetings to publicize events or accomplish other tasks in support of the committee's work. A two-year commitment is requested.

Members interested in volunteering as Sunday School teachers are also welcome to contact the committee chair. Gifts needed to serve as a Sunday School teacher include love of God, a passion for sharing knowledge of God and God's will, creativity, and gifts for teaching and working with children/adults.
